Leading Second-Crop sire Not This Time got his second graded stakes winner of July on Sunday at Woodbine when Easy Time scored in the Marine S. (G3).
Making his first start at Woodbine since his debut win in October, Easy Time stalked the pace for about six furlongs before making a three-wide move for the lead. He went by pacesetter Haddassah with little trouble, and then was in hand most of the way to best Keep Grinding by two lengths.
The final time on the synthetic surface was a solid 1:43.62 for the 1 1/16-miles.
Easy Time races for Breeze Easy, LLC. He is now 2-1-0 in four starts and has earned $114,653. He was bred by Woods Edge Farm LLC and is a half-brother to two-time stakes winner Softly Lit.
Breeze Easy purchased Easy Time for $250,000 out of the 202 OBS 2-year-old and Horse of Racing Age sale.
Pedigree notes from the TDN
Easy Time is the eighth stakes winner and third graded stakes winner for Not This Time. The sophomore sire, whose half-sister Matera (Tapit) captured last week’s Mari Hulman George Memorial S. at Indiana Grand, was represented last year by Grade I winner Princess Noor and his Yes This Time was victorious over the turf in the July 3 GIII Kent S. at Delaware Park. Not This Time is also responsible for another Woodbine stakes winner, Dirty Dangle, who captured last year’s Woodbine Cares S. over the lawn.
