It was a gate-to-wire score for Taylor Made sales grad BEYOND BRILLIANT, who found the winner’s circle with a determined victory in the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1) at Del Mar Thanksgiving weekend. Breaking alertly, the 3-year-old cruised to the lead, keeping at least a length advantage throughout the nine furlong contest on the turf. Although the first quarter was honest, BEYOND BRILLIANT was able to slow things down on the lead, giving him ample energy to kick on as they turned into the stretch. BEYOND BRILLIANT maintained his advantage, with only one challenger closing in on him to diminish his victory to only a neck.
