Bout Time turned in a stellar effort in her June 25 stakes debut at Monmouth Park, as the 4-year-old Not This Time filly rallied strongly in the stretch to win the $100,000 Goldwood S. by a widening 2 ¼-lengths.
The lightly-raced chestnut was making just her fifth lifetime start on Saturday, but was sent away the favorite following a sharp allowance score on the Churchill Downs lawn on May 15. Much like she did that day, she stalked the pace in the early stages, then took over when asked in upper stretch, pulling clear in the final furlong to win convincingly in 1:01.01 for the five furlongs on the firm turf. She earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 94.
Owned by Belladonna Racing LLC, Bout Time is 3-1-0 in five starts and has earned $171,488.
Bred by Wolverton Mountain Farm and out of stakes-placed Chilling Effect, Bout Time is a half-sister to six-time stakes winner Archidust.
Bout Time is the seventh stakes winner this year for leading Third-Crop sire Not This Time, who currently tops the list with over $6.3 million in progeny earnings.
