Hit the Road added a Grade 1 victory to his laurels on March 6 in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita. The four-year-old son of More Than Ready entered the contest with a hot hand, having won three in a row, including the Thunder Road Stakes (G3) in his previous start over the same course.
A four-time stakes winner of $494,751, he is the first foal out of Highway Mary and from the family of Dewhurst Stakes (G1) victor War Command, as well as Group 3 scorer Naval Officer.
Bred in Kentucky by Fred Hertrich, Hit the Road graduated from Taylor Made’s 2018 Keeneland September Sale consignment. He now has six wins from nine starts under trainer Dan Blacker.
