Taylor Made sales graduates captured two of three Grade 1’s on the Friday card at the Spa and earned berths into this year’s Breeders’ Cup.
First was VEXATIOUS, an upset winner of the Personal Ensign (G1) over champion Midnight Bisou. Having won or placed in seven graded stakes, this was her first Grade 1 victory for trainer Jack Sisterson and owner Calumet Farm. A Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” race, we will likely see her in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) this fall. VEXATIOUS was bred by James C. Weigel & Giant’s Causeway Syndicate, LLC and was purchased by BBA (Ireland) from the 2015 Keeneland September Sale.
A Taylor Made sales and Bloodstock Investment graduate, IMPROBABLE, put forth an emphatic effort in the Whitney Handicap (G1), defeating fellow Grade 1 winners Tom’s d’Etat and Code of Honor. Now his third Grade 1 victory, IMPROBABLE has amassed more than $1.5 million in earnings for owners WinStar Farm, China Horse Club, and SF Racing. The Bob Baffert-trainee now has a spot in the starting gate at the 2020 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). IMPROBABLE was purchased by Maverick Racing & China Horse Club at the 2017 Keeneland September Sale for $200,000.
