Just One Time was testing graded stakes waters for the first time in Saturday’s $200,000 Inside Information S. (G2) at Gulfstream Park, and the 4-year-old Not This Time filly proved up to the task with a hard-fought three-quarter length victory.
The chestnut filly already had a pair of stakes wins on her resume, and with Saturday’s victory, she upped her earnings to $289,595 for Commonwealth New Era Racing and Warriors Reward LLC, the latter also her breeder.
Just One Time was a bit restless in the starting gate, leaving her in the back half of the 10-horse field as they raced up the backstretch. With about three furlongs to run, she began her move while racing well off the rail. She came five-wide into the stretch, then ran past Jakarta inside the final furlong, and ultimately held off Four Graces to secure the win.
“Turning for home she was reaching out and I could feel her confidence,” said winning rider Joel Rosario. “I felt pretty good at that point that she was going to run big. With the slow break and [going wide], she was the best horse in the race.”
Pedigree Notes from the TDN
With the victory, Just One Time becomes the fourth graded stakes winner for hot young sire Not This Time, who was the leading Second-Crop Sire of 2021. A half-sister to graded winner For Rubies, Just One Time’s dam Ida Clark is also responsible for SW Black Stetson.
