Excellent Timing went gate-to-wire to score a 7 1/4-length maiden special weight win Dec. 10 at Aqueduct, making him a First-Crop sire best 26th winner for Not This Time (VIDEO).
The dark bay colt is the fourth winner in the past six days for his sire, who now has nine more than any other on this year’s First-Crop sire list.
Excellent Timing was never under any serious threat after he opened up by a length in the first furlong. He continued to widen his margin all the way to the finish, earning a very respectable 80 Beyer Speed Figure for the effort.
Owned by Happy Face Racing Stable, Excellent Timing was bred by Sequel Stallions New York LLC and Lakland Farm. He is the first foal out of Explicable, whose half-brother Inexplicable was a two-time Grade 3 winner.
